Can we call it "home" if we are not living there yet?
Yesterday we had our final walkthrough, signed last minute papers and voi la! Keys in hand, clickers in place -- we own our home!
We kind of hung out at the house marveling at the reality of it all, but not really feeling reality. I think we are both waiting to have our "stuff" to be in for it to feel real. In the meantime, we sat on the floor, ate dinner and giggled -- a lot.
We will be moving things over during the coming weeks, but I am sure it will all come down to a last minute crunch when the movers arrive on the 6th of May. Why is it that things always come down to a final crunch time?
The appliances are being delivered on Friday. A kick A$$ refrigerator and killer washer and dryer set. Thanks for the Washing Machine Mom! And we are still hoping for carpet on Saturday. I think that once those two things are done, we will be on the fast track for moving in.
It will be the first time we will live together, alone. While we will miss Dave (a wonderful room mate) it will be fun to kind of just be us. I think I am a little nervous about it, actually. But good nervous.
One step closer to being US! This wedding cannot come fast enough!
