OK, so we looked at 3 places today. Each one was a surprise in one form or another and you could suffice it to say that it is definitely worth looking past the curb appeal of a place before you set a judgment. Like I said, though, I was hoping that one place would have all of our needs met and show itself to us as "the one." Turns out that the first place we went, last week, was just that. Everything we looked at got compared to it, and as I stated after that first day of hunting, it appears that we will be married at the Emerald Gardens.
Come to think of it, perhaps my fascination with all things Wizard of Oz has come into play here. Ya know, the Emerald City is where her dreams were realized. Perhaps, the Emerald Gardens is where mine will be.
Anyway, it is a lovely location, near two nice hotels, a plethora of restaurants and not too far from "the Strip". The dressing rooms for the bride and groom are top notch, and the wedding ceremony itself is held in a beautiful spot, with a wonderful room for the reception. I have no doubts that this will be magical from beginning to end.
And in case I have forgotten to mention it, my Mom has been wonderful and supportive through this process. She is excited for us and has generously offered to help make this dream a reality for me. She keeps reminding me that this is my wedding and it should be beautiful... "I just think you will feel better once you make one decision and get to check something off your list." With that selection made, I can finally mark something major off on my to do list and sleep better tonight.
Next up, dresses, flowers and photos... Oh my!

I am so happy that one of the biggest and most pressing decisions have been made. The place sounds wonderful!
