I think I might be starting on information overload, but it appears we are not nearly as done seeking a location for the shindig as I thought. It seems there are myriad other venues to look at and check out. I can tell you that at $240 a head, for the reception alone, The Bellagio is definitely OUT.
We have appointments on Saturday at a couple of places. One of them has no real curb appeal, but word on the mountain is that the inside is FABULOUS. So off we will go. We are both diligently doing our homework and getting information from nearly every hotel and reception place that we can think of. In conversation today, though, it dawned on both Ken and myself that we could probably do things for less money if we did it ourselves. That means researching dj's, caterers, bakeries, officiants, florists, wedding coordinators, photographers, all of it. I am thinking after typing that, though, that for the convenience, this may be the way to go -- all inclusive package deals. It will cost more for sure, but my sanity, at this point, is worth at least that.
So far places in the running are Emerald Gardens, The Terrace, The Grove at Silk Purse Ranch, and The Ritz. Feel free to take a look at any of these places. I simply ask that you pay no mind to the cost of the packages. Feedback is welcomed.

Amy,
I like the look of the places. The Terrace is not quite as pretty as the others, but it is hard to tell from pictures. Ask lots of questions. I know the place we got married would not let you use outside people for catering or the cake.
It looks like you are off to a great start. Let me know if I can be of any help.
Janell
