I was talking with my Mom tonight, and in explaining to her why I have been less than engaged in recent conversation with her, it dawned on me -- life is moving forward at breakneck speeds and I am kind of distracted. Then it was driven home by my realization that this weekend is our 1 year anniversary, and we are spending the weekend doing things to commemorate that on every level.
Saturday, we are doing our engagement photos -- finally. After two cancellations, I am hoping the third time will be the charm. Then Ken is meeting movers at his place to move out, as he is in final stages of selling, signing paperwork and moving out -- for real! While he does that, the search for bridesmaids dresses will take on a new face -- seriously. Then, Saturday night we are going out for a private romantic dinner to start the celebration of our anniversary, only to finish it off on Sunday with a matinee of RENT! at the Paris Hotel and then dinner with friends Mitch and Samantha. Mitch and I go way back to high school, an he is one of Ken's grooms men. I am so excited.
In conversation this evening, Ken and I came to yet another realization -- this April 2, will be our first and last time celebrating an anniversary like this. The next one will be October 22, 2007, one year of marriage! And that will be the first of many!
