A new light

This is a new template for our blog -- not sure if we like it yet, but I figured as our lives are changing, so too should our blog. We will keep playing around with this to see what fits us best, but be advised, changes, they are a'comin'.

The house is coming along amazingly! The house is really taking shape with exterior walls, all the wiring and stuff like that going on. We had our frame inspection walk through today and that was just too freaking cool for words. It will be neat-o to see it at the next step -- drywall and interior walls! Yahoo!

The wedding plans are moving along nicely as well. I am going to LA next weekend to visit my mom for a very much overdue visit, and some -- yep, you guessed it! Wedding Dress Shopping! My mom's opinion means a lot to me. One sideways look from her, and my mind changes immediately, much like I think is the case for a lot of mothers and daughters. AND, since I am not having huge luck shopping without her, maybe I just need the magic eye of my mom to help me narrow down the field. In any case, I am sure it will be a good weekend.

We have not decided on a florist yet -- both of the gals we are working with are so different, there is no one overriding factor to switch us one way or the other. My mom also pointed out that since I do not have my dress yet, it is probably making it harder to make choices on flowers and such. Who knows?

One thing I DO know is that I am sure of the man I am marrying. He gave me a great Valentine's Day and if it were solely up to me, we would be married this weekend and done with it! I am ready to be planning a marriage rather than a wedding. But, we have started down this path, and we will finish it to the end -- the very beautiful, elegant and charming end!

Still looking for suggestions on favors!

It's not too late to run off and elope.

LOL

Hadn't said that in awhile. It'll be a great joke I'll get to tell your kids later; how I was trying to run you off in a hurry to do the deed so I didn't have to wear a bow on my butt.

;)

That is really funny Lora. As we went dress shopping there was a bride looking at rental dresses. They were in the middle of planning the whole big wedding thing and they decided that it was just too much for them and they booked airline tickets to Vegas and eloped.

Lora - Very cute. We were out to breakfast this morning with Nana who was wondering why we were waiting for so long. The only good reason we could come up with was that we decided to do the big wedding and October was the best date.

Teri - When we met with one of the videography candidates, we saw a lot of people that traveled to Las Vegas for the "big wedding." Very interesting. My dad keeps insisting that we have Elvis at the wedding. If Elvis doesn't at least make an appearance, I think he would be greatly disappointed. That being said, he was very happy to hear that we'll have some beef dish and we'll make sure he has ketchup. At my sister's wedding, he was very excited that she made sure he had ketchup for his Filet. What a shame...
